Perth girl wins at Unsigned Aria's
Perth singer-songwriter Danni Stefanetti cleaned up at this year's prestigious 2012 MusicOz Awards.
Often hailed as The Unsigned Aria's, hundreds of artists and supporters gathered at the Sydney Opera House to see nominees and previous winners showcase their talent in front of VIP and industry guests for the annual award ceremony.
The 22-year-old fulfilled a childhood dream of performing at the iconic Opera House, before taking out the category of best Spiritual/Christian song of the year with her indie pop gem Victory.
The humble Aussie songstress was not prepared for the success: "I walked on stage to accept my award with my cup of tea from intermission still in my hand," she laughed.
"What an unfathomable experience to play at the Sydney Opera House and be recognised as an independent musician; there are big things ahead."
With popular Aussie artists like The Jezebel's and Art vs. Science receiving MusicOz awards before her, Stefanetti was the only WA artist to take home a trophy this year.
Once rejected by X-Factor, the talented guitarist and vocalist now has the last laugh. Her debut music video has received over 16,000 hits on YouTube and taken her on tours to New York, LA, Nashville and around Europe.
This homegrown superstar is certainly one to watch - download the single track for her brand new EP, We Are The Music Makers produced by Alan Brey, of The Novocaines and The Dirty Secrets fame, here.
